As the name suggests, a compact fluorescent lamp is characterised by its compact shape. It is practically a folded, curved or coiled fluorescent lamp – but the operating principle is the same. Thanks to its compactness, the compact fluorescent lamp – also known as an energy-saving lamp – can be fitted into smaller luminaires, making it equally suitable for both commercial lighting and for the home.

A compact fluorescent lamp offers several advantages. It is characterised by high energy efficiency, has a long service life, high luminous efficacy, and good colour rendering properties. To avoid overloading, a ballast unit is necessary. With this type of lamp, this is either integrated or external to the luminaire. In our assortment, we offer compact fluorescent lamps with a classic screw base such as E14 and E27. These have an integrated ballast unit which is built into the lamp socket. Compact fluorescent lamps with a plug-in base, such as, e.g., 2G10, do not have an integrated ballast unit. Instead, an external ballast unit is placed in the luminaire. The light colours are also variable, so you can choose between a warm or cool white depending on the location.
